The Shun Lee Theatre was situated in Shun Lee Estate, a public housing estate, on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. The theatre was the first theatre to be built by the Housing Department of Hong Kong. It had a 858-seat auditorium with stadium seating and a well-equipped stage for stage performances.

The theatre was run by a private company with a stipulation under its contract to serve as a community centre in the mornings. It opened to business on 25th June, 1981 with a Shaw Brothers Mandarin film, and showed first-run films until its closure on 11th July, 1996. Its contract stipulated that no adult films could be shown at the theatre.

The theatre building was demolished in 1999.
