The Strand actually dates back to at least the 1910s. The Moving Picture World July 1915:
“WATERTOWN, N. Y.â€"Harry Stowell, who conducts the Strand theater on Franklin Street, will increase the seating capacity of the house several hundred: a stage will also be built to accommodate vaudeville acts In conjunction with the exhibit of moving pictures”.
