The Lake Theatre opened prior to 1941 and the building was still standing in 1982. It has since been demolished and the East Lake Library is now on the site.

There was also an East Lake Theatre right down the street at number 1537.

The 1982 photo referenced in the previous comment is actually the El Lago theater at 3506 East Lake Street in Minneapolis.

I have relinked it on the El Lago page. Maybe Ken will remove it from this page.

The Lake Theatre actually opened in 1925. Closed as a movie theatre in 1955, it was owned by Lake Amusement Co.
