The Westerner Drive-In was built in 1950 and was located on the northwest corner of the intersection of River Oaks Boulevard and Sam Calloway Road. It had three projectors, large snack bar, play area for children and outside seats in front of the snack bar for about 100. It held 500 cars.

It was demolished in the late-1980’s or 1990’s after being vacant for a period of time.

Would anyone know if the front of the original screen tower had a mural painted on it, and if so, what was it of? Thank you.

Approx. address for this drive-in was 5932 River Oaks Boulevard.

FYI: As previously stated elsewhere, Phil Isley was the father of Phyllis Isley AKA Jennifer Jones!
