Ruffel's Bioscope

Ruffel’s Bioscope was in operation by 1907. It was described as a ‘white fronted cinema, with a domed paybox and chairs linked by deal wood planks’. Probably closed by the introduction of the Cinematograph Licencing Act in 1910.

Later demolished, a Marks & Spencer’s department store operated from the site for many years. In recent years this has become a Pimark clothing store.
