The State Theater dates back to at least 1945. The State Theater closed in the 1950’s.

There was also a Turner Theater in Columbia, Illinois. I don’t know if the State Theater was previously known as the Turner Theater or if they were different theaters. This is a 2000 photo of the building. At that time a bank occupied the building.
