The Tokyo Cinema was a small cinema on the ground floor of the podium of the Lok Sing Centre in Causeway Bay on the Hong Kong Island. Lok Sing Centre was built on the site of the former Roxy Theatre and an adjacent hotel. Its 93-seat auditorium with a small lobby and a ticket booth was converted from a shop by the Yee Wo Street.
The Tokyo Cinema opened to business in 1993 and showed adult films until it was renamed as the BM-Causeway Bay Cinema under a new management in the late-1990’s. The renamed cinema showed first run Chinese dialect films until it closed in early-2000. The former cinema has been converted back into a shop and selling Indonesian goods currently.

The guy holding a camera is Raymond Lo/Suwanti. At that day,I accompanied Mr.Ken Roe to visit the remaining theatre buildings on the Hong Kong Island.
Hi Suwanti, I am working on an article about old Hong Kong cinema that showed adult films and their relationship with the society. Could you please email me if you have any ideas about it? Many thanks! It would be great to hearing from you.
