The West Hills Theatre opened around 1942 and was still operating in 1950.
Although still recognizable as a theater, the West Hills Theatre looks like it’s had a hard go of it lately, like much of the surrounding neighborhood.

West Hills Cinema built 1941 and closed in 1962,seated 625,may have had a balcony. Today it’s an American Van Lines Moving Company. It was gutted after 1962 to become a moving firm. Its rear exterior still shows where the sound speakers jutted out behind a movie screen.
This entire area is to be redeveloped into a water stream in 2015 so most of the structures for 2 whole miles in this area will disappear.
