The Capitol Theatre is listed in the 1922 Clinton City Directory at the address, 240 South Main Street. In 1930, records show the owner to be J.B. Stine. The Capitol Theatre is listed as (Closed) in the 1941 & 1943 edition of Film Daily Yearbook.

After the Capitol Theatre closed, the lobby was used as a diner called the "Duck-In".

Was this theatre also known as the Palace Theatre at one time?

Was the Capitol located where Firsst Financial Bank is today?

The address given for the Palace was 230 South Main Street so both theaters were probably located on the same block. I think the Palace Theater building might still be standing.

The Palace is still there, but the Capitol is now the drive thru for First Financial Bank. Street View shows the building right next to the Capitol (to the North) is still standing, however.
