The Rex Theatre opened in the late-1930’s and seating was listed at 395. It was operated by Rowley United Theatres until its closing in the mid-1950’s. The building has since been converted to retail space.

Information for this theatre obtained from the book “The Old Movie Theatres of Texas”.
There is an old bank at the address mentioned above. I asked they lady at the information booth in the City Hall building, and she said the theater was at the site that is now a Silversmith shop. That would put it at 205 E Main Street.
