My great grandfather was the manager of the Endeavour Cinema way back in the thirties. His son often recalls the journey from Walworth to Plaistow and the preparations for the days shows…. Buster Crabbe in Tarzan the Fearless and endless serials. My mother had an associated Press photo of Great granddad outside the Endeavour with all of these excited kids, all queing up to have their twopenny worth at their own cinema.
