The Avalon Theatre opened in 1928. It went through a couple names, Rex Theatre, Civic Theatre and finally Avalon Theatre.
The Avalon Theatre closed in 1940 and today is in use as a restaurant. Any further information on the Avalon Theatre would be appreciated.

City name should be changed to its correct spelling, “San Diego”.
While this is no longer a theater, the building was not demolished. It’s now being used for a restaurant called Po Pazzo.
