The Carver Theatre was a theatre which catered primarily to an African American audience. The theatre apparently opened in 1949, and closed during the 1950’s.

The Carver was operated by Bailey Theatres.

According to Box Office the theatre seated 650.

The address wrong – should be 1297 Jonesboro Road, Atlanta, GA. It sits in the historic South Atlanta Neighborhood and once served as the heartbeat of the community. Elderly residents here still share stories of the theater. Great stories.
