Located in the Saint Laurent district of Montreal, the theatre was planned to be named the St. Laurent Theatre. The Normandie Theatre was opened in 1946. It was built for and was operated by the United Amusement Corporation Ltd. All seating was on a single floor. The proscenium was 29 feet wide, the stage being 34 feet wide and 13 feet deep.

The Normandie Theatre was closed in 1955.
