The Northtown Theatre was another one of the Seminole Heights movie theatres. It was opened in 1941, and likely carried on until at least the 1960’s. The building was still standing in 1995, but it was replaced by an Eckerd Drugs store by about 2000.
The address listed is for the Advanced Auto Parts store that occupies the old Eckerds building.

There are some pictures on this website. The brown and white building at the far right of the 1943 photograph is all that is left of this commercial strip.
Anyone have more info or more photos?

Great Pictures Nick. You have so many treasures to share, most of the guys have no idea the items you have.Hope that scanner keeps working.
Thanks Nick great photos.
Great stuff, Nick. I think us Tampa guys are very lucky to have such elaborate picture databases, between USF and the Burgert Brothers and whatnot.
Andy you wouldn’t believe all the theatre stuff Nick has.we have been sharing theatre stuff way before CT.
Andy/Major: Tampa is blessed not only with the Burgert Brothers photos but the Roberson & Fresh collection as well. Many cities had no historical photographers at all. Not being picky here and I’m very thankful for the theatres they did photograph but only wished they had taken more interior shots.
YEs,Tampa is very lucky.thank goodness you guys have such wonderful pictures.
As a young boy, I used go to the Saturday matinees with the neighbor kids. Two westerns, a cartoon carnival and a serial (Rocket Man, Flash Gordon, etc.) took all afternoon. Afterward, we stopped at the corner drugstore on Buffalo and Nebraska for a cherry Coke from the fountain. They were great times.
