The Main Theatre was opened in the early-1930’s with seating listed at 489. It was located across the street and down the block from the much larger Lafayette Theatre. The Main Theatre was owned and operated by Indianapolis Co-Op Theatres.
The Main Theatre closed in 1956 and has since been demolished. There is a parking lot where the theatre once stood.
