After operating for a little over a year at another location, a former penny arcade at 104 S. Main Street, the Bijou Theatre opened in at 90 S. Main Street on May 6, 1911. Like the other small theaters in Fond du Lac, it was unable to survive the competition from the two large movie palaces that were opened in 1925. The Bijou Theatre closed around 1927. Today, its extensively altered bulding houses the Fond du Lac Antique Mall.
