GRAND Theatre; Parshall, North Dakota, 1915.

The Grand Theater was the movie theater of the town of Parshall. It was opened in 1926 with 200 seats. It was rebuilt in 1949 when the seating capacity was increased to 320. The Grand Theater closed in 1982.

It and the Trail Theater in the neighboring town of New Town seemed to have shared the same owner/operator.

I question it being a Quonset Hut. The U.S. Navy didn’t start to develop the Quonset Hut untill 1941 at Quonset Point, Rhode Island. This theater was alredy 10 years old!

There is a BIG Quonset Hut still standing on Main Street in Parshall.

More info and photos are always welcome.

The Grand Theatre goes back prior to 1926 when it seated 200. It was rebuilt in 1949 bringing the seating to 320. Since the remodel took place in 1949 it very well could have been a Quonset Hut style.
