The Windsor Cinema was opened in January 1913. Seating at that time was for 400. In around 1931, it was re-named Regal Cinema.
It was taken over by the Southan Morris chain in February 1935 and was enlarged to 739 seats. Later that year, it was taken over by the Union Cinemas chain, and they were taken over by the Associated British Cinemas(ABC) chain in October 1937.
ABC closed the Regal Cinema on 4th January 1969 and it was converted into a bingo club. A branch of Boots the chemists operates at this address in 2010.
