Housed in the Art Deco Hartsville Community Center Building, the Center Theater operated for several decades as a movie house before turning to live performances, which it continues to stage to this day.

Seating for the Center Theatre was listed as 700.

Film Daily Yearbook;1950 edition gives a seating capacity of 779.
