This 100% digital projection 14-plex opened in the Wesley Chapel/Sun Valley area of Union County, NC around July 1, 2012. The first new movie theatre of the area in well over twenty years it is also the only locally owned movie house in Union County (and one of the few of the region). With “rocker” seating, PDX large format auditorium, wall-to-wall screens and gourmet concessions it almost seems too luxurious — one nice feature is the $5.50 ticket price for any movie that begins before 1:30 pm any day of the week. Owned, operated and built by Stone Theatres (Herman Stone, President) the current manager is listed as Tina Conklin.

This was the theatre that replaced the Union Square 8 in Monroe that closed in June of 2012. The Sun Valley 14 is the ONLY megaplex and only movie palace that is between Monroe and Indian Trail and basically the only locally owned movie house serves the entire area of Union County and surrounding areas.
