The Parkwood Theatre opened at Parkwood Mall (now Parkwood Place) in Prince George on April 7, 1966. Famous Players ran the single-screen house, which seated 770.

The Parkwood Theatre closed in 1990 and was demolished to make way for expansion of the mall. Famous Players later returned to the mall when it opened the Famous Players 6 there in 1997.
