Located in the Staffordshire potteries town of Stoke-on-Trent in the district of Normacot, close to Longton. The Alhambra Picture House was opened on 12th May 1914. Inside the auditorium seating was provided in stalls and circle levels. The stage was 20 feet deep and it had two dressing rooms.
CinemaScope was installed in December 1954 and the ‘scope screen was 25 feet wide. The Alhambra Picture House was closed on 24th September 1977 with Clint Eastwood in “Magnum Force”. There was talk of conversion into a bingo club or as a civic centre, but these came to nothing and with the wholesale demolition of the surrounding area, the building became a derelict eyesore in the 1990’s. It was demolished in 1995 and housing was built on the site.
