Majestic Cinema

Located in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. The Majestic Dance Hall is thought to have opened in 1931. It was the town’s first ‘all-electric’ building. It was soon converted into the full-time Majestic Cinema. The first cinema advertisements was published on 26th January 1939 (details of the film programme are knot known) There was an RCA sound system and the proscenium was 16ft wide.

The Majestic Cinema was closed in June 1956 and was converted into the Skelmersdale Labour Club. After that closed, the building was demolished.
