The Century Cinema Circuit opened the $2 million, three-screen Palms To Pines on February 11, 1976. According to a Los Angeles Times advertisement, in addition to 17 Los Angeles and Orange County locations, Century Cinema ran four of the Palm Springs theaters. Their other Palm Desert location was an art house called the Cinemart.
In 1977 the Palms To Pines became listed in the Times Independent Theatre Guide. In 1990 the name was changed to Cinema 3 and in 1994 it was out of the theater listings.
The Cinema 3 building, across the highway from the Westfield shopping center, was later converted to retail use.

I thought that Metropolitan Theatres built this location.
