Smalleys Theatre was opened prior to 1941. Research in the 1970’s done based on old newspaper articles indicates this theatre closed in 1952.
The empty building was adjacent to the Victory supermarket, and was still standing as late as the early-1990’s, but has since been demolished.

Smalley’s Oxford Theatre first appears in 1937 in this finding aid to the records of Smalley’s Theatres held by the New York State Historical Association. That is most likely the year it was built.
