Nearby Theaters
Located in the north of the city centre. Opened in 1899 as a café/concert hall. In September 1907 it began screening films, initially with 350 seats and named the Temples Selection Cinema. It was later taken over by Pathe and enlarged to 750 seats all on a single level, and re-named Pathe-Temple.
It became the Temple-Selection The Temple was opened prior to 1946. Later re-named Temple Selection it was known as the Temple when it closed on 1st April 1965.
In 2013, the building is in use as a bar-restaurant named ‘L’.
