Perry Theatre, Perry, GA

Viewing: Photo | Street View

Opened as the Muse Theatre, it later became the Perry Theatre into the 1940’s. It then became the Roxy Theatre and was operated by Martin Theatres. The closing date is unknown.

Projection booth located on the main floor. Could not access balcony. Went into the theatre about 4 years ago and work had been going. Stage area lined with studs. Don’t know what they were going to do with it, but there was an ebay listing a while taking bids on the old sign.

I believe Perry also had a twin indoor theatre close to I 75, but have never seen it. If there was one, it is long gone.

Perry’s twin cinema was on the Golden Isles connector just outside of town. They are both closed but you can tell there was a theater in the shopping center.

I read recently that there is a campaign in progress to restore this theater. Seems the idea is to turn it into a multi purpose venue, hey that will work if they can save the theater.

I don’t think that is what happened. I was just through Perry and this is how the theater looks now.
