The Aloha Theatre opened December 4, 1947, the opening feature was “Slave Girl” with Yvonne DeCarlo. This theater was a Quonset Hut design with attached front. It included a sweet shop, 2 offices & an apartment sharing the second floor with the booth.
The auditorium had air conditioning and a cry room. The decor included rich draperies, Armenian Karagheusian carpeting & custom light fixtures. The original owner was Errol C. Holland, who had a number of theaters and drive-in’s at that time.
I don’t know the exact closure date (still searching the paper archives). In 2013 the building houses 3 businesses: Donut Day in the back, A Cut Above Pawn in the front and Hot Tech Computer repair upstairs.
