Kinema

Originally the Sturton Town Liberal Hall (1882) the building was then used by the Salvation Army. They released the building which became a Palace of Varieties. Films were included in the programming and the name changed to Kinema in 1916. With 498 seats, the name stayed until closure in March 1966. It was then used as a bingo club, with some film use, and often screened Asian films. This ceased around 1986, and the building became derelict and eventually proposals were planned to build flats on the site. Its current status is unknown.
