Deluxe Theatre

The Flag Theatre opened in in 1914, first as an open-air theatre. In November 1916 it was remodelled by architect J.C. Speddon into a 250-seat indoor theatre, and it was modernized in 1925, with the seating capacity increased to 400. Around 1929 it was renamed Deluxe Theatre, which closed in 1958. It seated 250. The front of the building suffered a fire in December 1959, and a new plain façade was built, with the entire building now used for office space.
