Located in the north of the city. The Gloria Palace was opened on 19th March 1932. It was designed by an architect named Hennequet. The large central panel on the fa├žade originally contained an Art Deco style bas-relief panel depicting a projector and a man’s face (now obliterated). It had seating in orchestra and balcony levels. In its final years it was re-named Astros and was still open as a cinema in 1985. It had closed by 1993.
