Regal Dulles Town Center 10

The 2,000-seat Regal Dulles Town Center opened on December 11, 2014 for first run movies. From December 8 to 10 Regal held its traditional movies for charities event, with older films.

The amenities, which are becoming an industry standard, are digital projection and 3D, automatic recliners, and ticketing purchasing from any smart phone. They also have the Sony Entertainment Access System, to assist moviegoers who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or low vision.

According to the Loudoun Times, Regal now has 580 theaters in 42 states.

initially Regal’s premium RPX screen was slated for this location, but that plan went by the wayside, which is a shame since Countryside’s screens seem on the small antiquated side. Regal could have also benefited by installing a Dolby Atmos system here, but again, no dice – Regal seems clueless at times.

went this afternoon to see ‘Paper Towns’(Auditorium #2) – great reclining seats. Screen four is the largest of the auditoriums seating capacity of 183. Four of the auditoriums can present 3D features (Sony 4K projector). All the auditorium’s are outfitted to playback 7.1 surround sound features.

also because the entire complex is comprised of reclining seats, the seating capacity tops off at 873 patrons not 2000.

I remember going to this theater to see “Captain America: Civil War”(in 2D, and it possibly had 7.1 sound), and I recently saw “Ready Player One” (in 2D and with 7.1 sound) in this theater. One of the best 7.1 mixes I’ve ever heard(though it still doesn’t compare to the film’s IMAX and ATMOS sound mixes, which will ROCK AND SHAKE THE HOUSE). Great recliner seating, good prices, and rocking sound make this an awesome theater.
