This Near West Side neighborhood theater, which sat just under 800, opened in 1916. The Madlin was located near the corner of Madison Street and Wolcott Avenue. The Madlin was closed during the 50s and later demolished.
Today, another form of entertainment takes place on the site of the old theater; instead of movies, two of Chicago’s professional sports teams, the Bulls and Blackhawks, call the United Center, which opened in 1994, home.
