487 Cinema

Located in New Cross, south-east London. Originally built as a bank and located adjacent to the (now demolished) New Cross Empire Theatre, it later became a printers workshop. In 2014 it opened as the 487 Cinema, screening uncensored ‘straight’ adult films to a male audience. Seating is provided for 12 in the main room, and there are two small side rooms which each have a long wooden bench for seats. Due to it operating without a licence, it was closed by Lewisham Council and during a lunchtime police raid on 19th February 2015. None of the 10 patrons inside were arrested, but the manager was questioned. It re-opened a few days later. It was closed again on 25th June 2016. The operators hope to relocate the business.

By May 2021 it was in use as a retail unit selling catering equipment and a Chinese restaurant.

Very interesting details. I would just say I don’t think they screen gay movies. They show straight movies. As I always say in a porn cinema audience the dividing line between gay and straight tends to melt away somewhat, but the films themselves are straight.
