Lyceum Theatre

The Harris Brothers Lyceum Theatre on Main Street in Boonton opened in 1899 and had a seating capacity of 1,000. It was used to stage plays and operas performances as well as silent films presentations. Still in operation in 1940 but there is no information as when the theatre closed. It was damaged by a fire in the 1950’s and was later demolished.

The Lyceum Theater in Boonton, New Jersey was located in 905 Main St. It had 700 seats and was owned by David Snaper Theaters in 1930. Closed around 1950.

Opened around 1897 as the Harris Lyceum Theatre. The building was damaged by a fire in the 1950s and was later demolished.

A book published by the Boonton Historical Society says that the Harris Lyceum opened in 1889. It was also the first theater at which George Burns and Gracie Allen performed as a team.
