The Wanee Theatre was originally opened in 1946 as a single-screen auditorium which could seat 851. The theater was designed in late Streamline style. During the mid-1980’s, when GKC Theatres operated the Wanee Theatre, the auditorium was twinned.

Now part of the Johnson Theaters chain, the Wanee Theatre continues to operate today, screening first-run features.
