An employee of the Paramount Cafe recently told me all about the Griffith Theatre, which was located within the film row district of downtown Oklahoma City. Griffith Brothers Independent Theatres opened this Streamline style movie house in 1945. When Griffith Bros. bought the next door Paramount Pictures Exchange Building, shortly after World War II, they closed the theatre in 1948 and converted it into office and warehouse space. The building still stands today.
