In the West Dunbartonshire town of Milngavie, just to the north of Glasgow, the Douglas Picture House opened around 1927.
The proprietor was Mrs Breckenridge, on behalf of her family, which had previously shown films in the old Town Hall.
The Douglas Picture House closed on 24th February 1962, with “Greyfriars Bobby” starring Donald Crisp.
The building, renamed Douglas House, was converted into shops and offices.
