I believe this photo is of the Cameo at 934 Market downtown San Francisco. It was last known as the Esquire and was torn down in 1972. It was known as the Cameo from 1923 to 1929. The Cameo referenced above was in the Mission District and was enclosed in a multi-storied building, which still stands. It was known as the Cameo from 1931 to 1952. A much belated comment: I’ve seen the photo in the link from the SF Main Library. The building to the right looks like the now-closed Bell Bazaar, which was at 3030 16th Street. So this is probably 16th Street, not Market I can’t find any photos of Bell Bazaar (yet) just a reference to PO station that was inside BB which is also long closed. But I was in Bell Bazaar many times, and the upper floor in the photo looks like BB.
