Premier Cinema

In the Shettleston district in the East End of of Glasgow, the Premier Cinema was opened in August 1912 by George Urie Scott.

The auditorium, behind a four-storey terrace of shops and apartments, was reached through a former shop which Scott had used as an early cinema. The proscenium was 22ft wide. It was equipped with an Electrocord sound system

The Premier Cinema closed 1948.

The auditorium became home to an Irish club known as The Barn Social Club.
