Located in the south Melbourne district of St. Kilda. The St. Kilda Bioscope Theatre was a large purpose-built cinema which opened on 11th April 1911. It was built by Johnson & Gibson, and was taken over by Amalgamated Pictures upon its completion. It became what was to be the first theatre in the newly formed Greater Union Theatres chain in 1913. It was redecorated and renovated in 1915, and was closed in 1933.
