The Sherman Park Theater was opened in 1913 for William Baker at a cost of $9,000. It was located in the New City neighborhood, on W. Garfield Boulevard at S. Racine Avenue, not far from Sherman Park, its namesake. The theater is listed for sale in the Chicago Tribune’s classifieds by April 1916. In 1947, the Tribune has a brief article about the factory located at this address getting a zoning variation to construct a two-story addition. The site is currently a vacant lot.
