The Bohemian Picture Theatre was built for F.A. Sparling and was designed by George Luke O’Connor with a steel frame and a terracotta frontage. It opened on 8th June 1914 with “In the Hands of London Crooks” and Mr W. Ashton was appointed Manager. It first closed in the early-1930’s for enlargement and conversion for talkies. The 795-seater had a balcony and large stage for the presentation of variety acts. It closed for good on 30th June 1974 and was demolished in the 1990’s.
