The Imperial Theatre opened in 1920 and closed in 1953.
The Imperial Theatre was owned by Michael Czargot and was located a couple blocks away from the Chopin Theatre. There was stiff compitition between the two theatres. Mr. Czaegot later acquired the Chopin and played Polish films until Poland was invaded during the world war and polish films were impossible to get. The Imperial clsoed its doors in 1953. Here is a photo of what the building looks like today.

I had just visited this building just last week and found it to be very small. The stage is still there and the projection port holes are still on the back wall but seats and concession are gone.Iy is now a pet food supply store that was just very recently purchased.
In 1950 the Imperial Theater had 378 seats.
