This drive-in, located on Waltonville Road, opened in 1949, and could accomodate about 200 cars. It was operated by the Kerasotes chain. The theater closed in 1983, and has been mostly demolished, except for the concession stand and ramps.

I would love to see this place restored and re-opened. I live in Mt.Vernon and would love to see this piece of history come back to life.
People are starting to take a new interest in these old thesters and statistics are showing more people are going to drive-ins.

I would be a customer !!
I also miss the old Drive-In. The last movie I can remember watching at the Mt.Vernon Drive-In was Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I don’t think the theater could reopen in the same location but it would be nice to have a drive in in the area again.
