Thalia Filmtheater Altessen

Located in the Altessen district to the north of Essen city centre. The Thalia Filmtheater Altessen was opened in 1950 and was operated by Eberhard Trosch & Heinz Preuscher. It was designed by architect Theo Eisberger. The cinema had seating in orchestra & balcony levels. The stage was 6x3x6 meters. The AP XII projectors were by Askania, located in Berlin and the sound system was by Klangfilm/Siemens. Around 1958 it was equipped with CinemaScope. The Thalia Filmtheater was closed after 1969.

In early-2020 it is in use as a shisha bar named Mustafa Elham.
