A theater operated at this address as early as 1911, which eventually became known as the Fashion Theater. This 275 seat theater was located on South State Street, at the corner of West Harrison Street, near the Paris Theater, Folly Theater, and original Chicago Theater, none of which survive today. The Fashion Theater was still open in 1945 according to the Film Daily Yearbook from that year, but didn’t last for much longer.
The actual site of the Fashion Theater has an MB Financial Bank built, while the entire block where the theater was originally located is now the site of University Center, a dorm building containing retail spaces on the first floor.

The Fashion Theater was still listed as open in the 1950 edition of Film Daily Yearbook.
The sight of the Fashion Theatre was a large parking lot 2 levels it was a city lot,if you watch the movie “Running Scared” you can see it in the background,it was tourn town and recofigured to be just a simple parking lot. But now their is a bulding on the spot witch is a joint venture with DePaul University, Columbia Collage(Chicago) and Roosevelt Univeristy called “The University Center of Chicago"
The 1st parking lot was opperating untill i think the mid 90
