Caddo Theatre

The 40-year old Binger Theatre/former Binger Opera House was destroyed by a January 1947 fire. Operators Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Cox would build a new theatre that was going to be the New Binger Theatre… at least in its conceptual stages. However, when the new theatre launched, it was called the Caddo Theatre. The Caddo Theatre opened on October 6, 1946 with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall in “The Big Sleep".

The Coxes were still running the theatre twenty years later in 1966 despite the fact that the town had just 600 residents. It would later close leaving the town theatre-less.
