Here is a manager that knew how to promote.Today,so called theatre managers have no idea what we did back in the old days. Manager Joe Seery dressed up a horse and marched the horse through town tp PROMOTE “ THE HORSE IN THE GRAY FLANNEL SUIT'. Nice going Joe. Hope you read CT. Feb. 10 1969. Just a bit more history.

The murals in this theater, (murals of two women warriors riding on winged horses on clouds) are a almost exact duplicate of the murals at the Bal Theater in San Leandro! I am pleased to see that this theater is under renovation – I hope that the curtain was preserved. It is a beautiful theatre.

Currently, The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been showing there recently at midnight…once a month.

As I recall, this theatre’s entrance was moved around a corner during its post-fire renovation. This would likely explain the address change.

This listing shows the State theatre at 333 Main Street, but the official site shows it at 333 Oak St., Red Bluff, Ca. Was there two sepereate State theatres?
